Travis Braun – President
Travis is a third generation Contractor. Starting at the age of 14 he started working on job sites with his dad. He has worked his way from sweeping floors to managing commercial projects to owning his own business. As a result, he brings a vast amount of experience to each project he participates in.
Travis was born and raised in St. Catharine’s. After working with his dad he started his own business which he owned and operated for 10 years. He’s managed multiple crews, specializing in new builds, additions, renovations and garages as well as light commercial builds.
It was always Travis’ dream to move up to the Haliburton Highlands and in the summer of 2017 that dream came true. In the few years that Travis has been up here, he’s embraced the small town and tight community that Haliburton has to offer. Travis is a member of the Lakeside Church and a proud supporter of his six children and their extracurricular sports and activities.
Travis brings his professionalism and high standards combined with his love of the Highlands to each project he embraces. He loves a challenge and his strong work ethic works through the problems that inevitably arise.

Jim White - Project Manager
After College, Jim began his career working for a commercial contractor on bridges and various commercial developments in Southern Ontario. After two years in the commercial sector, he turned to residential construction. There, Jim began his apprenticeship working on custom residential projects in and around the Rosedale and Forest Hill areas. Through that he had earned his Master Journeyman qualifications and continued with the company for over 30 years.
He and his wife made the move to the beautiful Highlands area in 2009 taking the year to construct their own custom family home. Continuing his passion for carpentry, custom homes and cottages, he found his place working for a custom contractor in Haliburton where he had a role as a Site Supervisor and Carpenter for 11 years.
In 2020, Jim joined our team as a Lead Carpenter and Site Supervisor. He has been a big part of the growth at Braun Custom Builds now earning the position of our Project Manager overseeing on site progress, scheduling trades, ordering materials and assisting with estimating. We are very fortunate to have Jim’s experience and dedication as a key member and leader on our team.
